Information
Crescendo
International Music Competition is
annual music competition for youth.
The
Competition will be held in various venues
throughout New York, New Jersey,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Canada from December 4th, 2010
through January 23rd, 2011.

Eligibility
Crescendo
International Music Competition is open to all instrumentalists, duets,
ensembles and vocalists from the ages of 5-21.
Depending upon skill level,
contestants will be placed in one of three competing categories,
Junior, Intermediate or Advanced.
Application
Procedure
Applications must include the
following:
a. An original copy of the
application must be submitted.Applications provided via fax or e-mail
will be nullified.
b. A
non-refundable registration fee of $60.00 USD will be assessed. Checks
and money orders should be made payable to Crescendo Competitions,
Inc., and are to be submitted along with the completed application(s)
to: Crescendo Competition, 4 Lyons Place, East Hanover, NJ 07936. No
exceptions will be granted.
c.
Attention to all foreign applicants: The deadline for all admission
CDs/DVDs is November 15, 2010.
d.
Applications must be postmarked by November 15, 2010.
Repertoire
a.
One major Baroque, Classical, Romantic or Modern work must be chosen
and performed from memory (No arrangements, simplified editions,
popular music or non-classical music from methods books are acceptable).
b.
Performers may include an optional short piece.
c. No
changes in the submitted repertoire may be made once a contestant is
admitted.
d.
Performance time must not exceed 6 minutes. In accordance with strict
contractual obligations imposed by Carnegie Hall, performers will be
charged a fee of $30 USD for each minute which exceeds the allotted
performance time.
e.
Please note that the use of cameras, camcorders or any audio/visual
recording devices is strictly forbidden by Carnegie Hall.
Audition
Auditions
will be held on the following dates at the listed venues:
1. December
4, 2010 at Monmouth Academy of Musical Arts, 1230 Campus Drive West,
Morganville, NJ, 07751;
2. December
5, 2010 at Caldwell College, 120 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ,
07006.
The
original score must be given to the judge. No make ups or repeated
performances will be granted. The decision imposed by the judges is
final.
All
contestants must wear proper attire. It is the responsibility of the
proctor to inform their students that no jeans, short skirts, sneakers,
or boots will be allowed.

Recitals
a. A
concert for those who earned the First place honors will be held at the
Weill
Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, 154 West 57th Street, New York, NY on
January 9, 2011 from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM. A recital fee of $180 USD will
be assessed.
b. A
concert
for those who earned Second place honors will be held at the Weill
Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, 154 West 57th Street, New York, NY on
January 16th, 2011 from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM. A recital fee of $180 USD
will be assessed.
c. A
concert for those who earned Third place honors will be held at the
Alumni Theatre at Caldwell College, 120 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ
07006 on January 23rd, 2011 at 4PM and 6:30 PM. A recital fee of $100
USD will be assessed.
d. The
winner must be present until the conclusion of the recital in order to
participate in the award presentation. No diplomas or medals will be
sent via mail.
e. All
contestants must confirm their participation in the Winner’s Concerts
by no later than December 15th, 2010.
f. The fees
assessed for each concert will include four (4) complimentary tickets,
Board Certification and Trophies/Medals.

Special
prizes will be awarded for the best performance within the performer's
respective age group.
Students
will receive board certified diplomas and instructors will receive a
certificate of excellence.
All winners
are eligible to participate in the upcoming International Student
Exchange Program hosted throughout Canada, Germany and Russia.

Hall (January 16th, 2011) – $45 USD
Caldwell
College (January 23rd) - $25 USD
