Information
We
invite all students and music teachers to participate in a colorful
music show where young musicians perform pieces related to any
nationality or culture. All participants are dressed in traditional
costumes.

This
competition is open to all
instrumentalists, vocalists and dancers.Participants will perform one
selection of either Asian or European composition in one of the three
categories: Elementary (Junior) , Intermediate or Advanced.
Alternatively, participants may perform musical scores from movies or
folk songs.All participants will perform in Carnegie Hall, NY and
Caldwell College, NJ and get Certified Diplomas and Memorable Medals or
Trophies.
Elibility
Music
Carnival is open to all instrumentalists, duets, ensembles and
vocalists ages 4 and up.
All contestants
will play in one of the three categories Junior, Intermediate or
Advanced.
Application
Procedure
Applications
must consist of the following:
a.Completed and signed original
application form. Applications sent by fax or e-mail will not be
accepted. Handwritten Applications will not
be accepted. Failure to send a complete application may put your
acceptance in jeopardy.
b. A non-refundable
registration fee of $55.00. Checks or money orders must be payable to
the Crescendo Festivals, Inc. and sent along with the Application to 4
Lyons Place, East Hanover, NJ 07936. Please note that this fee is a
non-refundable, and must accompany the application. No exceptions will
be granted. Applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2011. Checks
accepted after the deadline would be charged an additional $25.

Repertoire
One
selection of international music or any piece from the repertoire
representing composers of different nationalities (Ex: Chinese,
Taiwanese, American, French, Italian Spanish, etc.). Alternatives could
be Beethoven’s German Dances, Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov, or
Italian Song by Tchaikovsky.
Performance time should not
exceed 6 minutes. If your performance time is greater them 6 min, you
will be charged an extra $30 for every additional minute in accordance
to Carnegie Hall regulations.

No Repeats should be taken at
the Audition or Recital. Judges’ decision is final. The
original score (not a photocopy) has to be furnished for a judge.
Recitals
a. First place
winners perform on April 24, 2011, 1:30 PM and May 28, 2011, 6:30 PM at
Carnegie Hall, 154 West 57th Street, New York, NY.
b. Second place winners perform
on May 21, 2011, 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM at College of New Jersey.
c.Third place winners perform
on May 22, 2011, 4:30 PM at Alumni Theatre
at Caldwell College, 120 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006.
Recital fees
Carnegie Hall -
$180 (incl. 4 complimentary tickets). Additional ticket - $45 ea.
College of NJ - $130 incl.
4 complimentary tickets). Additional tickets - $35 ea.
Caldwell College - $100 (incl.
4 complimentary tickets). Additional tickets - $25 ea.

Awards
Based on the judge’s
evaluations, and considering the participant’s age, complexity of
musical selection, and years of practice, we award our cash prizes,
certificates, and medals.
Grand Prize - $150;
First Prize - $100;
Second Prize - $80;
Third Prize - $50.
